I am a little bit ashamed to admit that I have forgotten the date that my last post was published. I could have easily looked it up, of course, but I’m really scared to see just how long I’ve been neglecting my blog and my followers. Continue reading
This is going to be a very quick post. I just wanted to say that I’m going to be participating in the Dewey’s 24-hour Read-a-thon. If you want to learn more about the Read-a-thon, the challenges, etc you can visit the Read-a-thon’s page and if you want to know the exact start and end times in your timezone you can find out here.
My TBR for this Read-a-thon is going to be very short. It actually contains only one book. Well it is a bindup of two books, and my goal is to read at least the first one. So, the book I will be reading is…
Rise of Empire by Michael J. Sullivan
The birth of the Nyphron Empire has brought war to Melengar. To save her kingdom, Princess Arista runs a desperate gamble when she defies her brother and hires Royce and Hadrian to perform a dangerous mission behind the enemy’s lines.
I’ve just read Theft of Swords by Michael J. Sullivan, which is the first bindup in the Riyria Revelations series and this is the continuation. Rise of Empire is a bindup of Nyphron Rising and The Emerald Sea books four and five respectively in the series. The first book was really really good and I’m hoping that this one will be even better. However, I will admit that this is a huge book to read in 24 hours. Especially when you have guests in the house. The good thing is that the Read-a-thon started in the early afternoon in my timezone and will end in an equally convenient time.
Now it’s your turn…
Are you participating in the Read-a-thon? Which books are you planning to read? What was a really good or really bad book you read recently?
Tell me all about it in the comments below…
In my February Book Haul I told you that, in my opinion, there is no better author to start studying Modern Greek Literature than Dionysios Solomos. I also said that I was going to explain why in my post about him. Well, if you are still interested in the answer, then read on and find out. Continue reading
I did it! I finally read The Raven Boys. I’ve wanted to do that from the moment I heard about this book. I’ve wanted to read Maggie Stiefvater for even longer than that. Was it worth my time? Read on and find out… Continue reading
I know I have only just talked about my book buying ban in my latest post. I have not cheated before I even started. These are books that I got either before I started the book buying ban or were given to me as gifts for my birthday, which was on the 16th of February. I am now officially 24 years old 😀
It is a very good thing that I decided to check my comments and notifications on my blog today. Had I not, then this post wouldn’t have been posted until March 3rd, even though I had planned to publish it a month earlier than that. Why? Eeeerhm, well…I might have scheduled it for arch 3rd thinking I had scheduled it for February 3rd. It is possible, but HIGHLY unlikely. My bet is that aliens hacked into my WordPress account and changed my scheduled posts’ dates. Yes, that is what happened. *nods head*
The first month of 2017 is already over and I still have not realized how quickly 2016 went by. Anyway, this month I have bought some really amazing books for myself and I have also received a few books as gifts from my mother. I won’t bore you with my non-existent news, I will get straight to the book haul part. Enjoy…!
