Dewey’s 24-Hour Read-a-thon TBR

This is going to be a very quick post. I just wanted to say that I’m going to be participating in the Dewey’s 24-hour Read-a-thon. If you want to learn more about the Read-a-thon, the challenges, etc you can visit the Read-a-thon’s page and if you want to know the exact start and end times in your timezone you can find out here.

My TBR for this Read-a-thon is going to be very short. It actually contains only one book. Well it is a bindup of two books, and my goal is to read at least the first one. So, the book I will be reading is…

10790277Rise of Empire by Michael J. Sullivan

The birth of the Nyphron Empire has brought war to Melengar. To save her kingdom, Princess Arista runs a desperate gamble when she defies her brother and hires Royce and Hadrian to perform a dangerous mission behind the enemy’s lines.

I’ve just read Theft of Swords by Michael J. Sullivan, which is the first bindup in the Riyria Revelations series and this is the continuation. Rise of Empire is a bindup of Nyphron Rising and The Emerald Sea books four and five respectively in the series. The first book was really really good and I’m hoping that this one will be even better. However, I will admit that this is a huge book to read in 24 hours. Especially when you have guests in the house. The good thing is that the Read-a-thon started in the early afternoon in my timezone and will end in an equally convenient time.

Now it’s your turn…

Are you participating in the Read-a-thon? Which books are you planning to read? What was a really good or really bad book you read recently?

Tell me all about it in the comments below…

Tome Topple Read-a-thon TBR

I recently found out about this Read-a-thon from the Little Book Owl and I thought that it was a great idea for me to read some of the bigger books on my Bookshelf Love Challenge TBR.

The Read-a-thon will last from November 18th to December 1st and the goal is to read as many tomes over 500 pages during that time as possible. There are also challenges, but I won’t be doing any of them. Continue reading

Bout of Books 17.0 TBR

After my failure at the last Read-a-thon I participated, I decided to give it another go. So, I will be participating in the Bout of Books 17.0 Read-a-thon. This time, however, I’m not going to pressure myself. I’m going to keep my TBR small.

1. The Traitor Spy Trilogy by Trudi Canavan.

I have finally started reading the first book and I’m about 100 pages in, so my goal is to finish the trilogy.

2. I Hate Fairyland Vol. 1: Madly Ever After

28204545

I have read about half-way through this, but I want to read it again from start to finish in between the other three books.

That’s it.

Now it’s your turn…

Are you participating in the Bout of Books 17.0 Read-a-thon? If yes, what are you reading? What are you currently reading?

Tell me all about it in the comments below…

#AZDiverse Read-a-thon Wrap Up

This is the last day of the #AZDiverse Read-a-thon. The Read-a-thon is hosted by Annika at Hidding Books and Ezrah at I Heart Romance & YA and its theme is diverse literature. You can check out their blogs for more information about it. Also, I have a TBR post for the Read-a-thon, so you can go on ahead and read that as well.

So, now let’s see how I did. Continue reading

Review: Demons Don’t Have Names

I won a copy of Demons Don’t Have Names from a giveaway on the publisher’s website. I was not really sure whether I would truly like it and it’s size intimidated me a little bit. I did read it, however, and I can honestly say now that this is the best and at the same time the worst book that I have read this year. Continue reading

#AZDiverse Read-a-thon & #AYearAThon & July TBR

It’s been a while since I made a TBR post and even longer since I participated in #AYearAThon and there’s a reason for that. I am really bad at reading the books I have planned to read instead of other books that have nothing to do with my TBR list. Also, I have a really bad history with Read-a-thons; whenever I decide that I’m going to participate in a Read-a-thon something happens and I just cannot find the time to do it. Continue reading
